#Genealogy software for mac osx 10,11.6 password
I was able to type my password just fine - all the keyboard buttons work, it just isn't scanning my finger. Again, resting my finger on the Touch ID sensor had no effect. When I visited a page with my password saved in safari, I was prompted for Touch ID to autofill the password. Mouse clicks and normal moves still worked fine. The mouse did not respond to swipes at all. I normally scroll up and down by swiping my finger up and down the top surface of the Magic Mouse, but this time it didn't work. I logged in by manually typing my password, then opened Safari and browsed the web. It wasn't like a bad fingerprint scan - it was like it didn't try to scan at all. I was prompted for Touch ID to log in, but resting my finger on the Touch ID sensor had no impact. I woke it by moving the Mouse, which worked as always. I have found that the Touch ID functionality and the touch-scroll functionality of the accessories will often (but not always) fail after the iMac wakes from sleep.įor example, I just woke the iMac from sleep after nearly 24 hours since I last used it. I have the 2021 24" iMac with M1 and am using it with the included Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Magic Mouse. I have a Time Machine backup from last week, but I will not have access to for almost 2 more weeks so if there's a way to recover my files sooner and kill this upload task, that would be amazing.Thanks. My computer is unusable and my files are all gone. Gone. Can any one help me with this? Has anyone experienced something similar? The iCloud upload is still there and still isn't progressing at all (not sure what its trying to upload anyways since the files were all deleted). But I was wrong and now every single file on both my Desktop and in my Documents is gone. I figured it wouldn't delete things that were still locally saved on my disk. So I went to the iCloud system preferences and unchecked the "Desktop and Documents" item. Anytime I try to access an Open or Save dialog, the app I'm using crashes, whether it's Preview, Xcode, Photoshop, or even Safari. This has been making my machine incredibly slow and has caused the fans to speed up like crazy. I've tried restarting and it hasn't moved. It failed the upload and has just been stuck on 57kb of 8.89GB uploaded for over a day. Now, I guess I had a large file in one of the folders because the total upload was almost 9GB (i have 200GB of available iCloud space). I hit YES and it began trying to upload everything. So I updated a machine with a bunch of files on the Desktop and in the Documents folder, and when I upgraded it asked me if I wanted to store these folders on iCloud as well.
